AAA-LUX has installed lighting at the football field of Montlouis, in France. Using 12 luminaires, the lighting intensity can go up to 175 lux with a uniformity of 0,75. As shown in the Video below it is now possible to dim their lighting to the level they desire, at any moment. At the same time they can also switch to different light scènes, for instance when they only need to light half of their pitch.
Last March it was exactly 5 years ago that AAA-LUX delivered the first project in Australia. From then on, things went quickly. At first, AAA-LUX mainly delivered projects in the province of Queensland, around Brisbane where the base of AAA-LUX is located. The densely populated province of Victoria soon followed, particularly around Melbourne.
Recently, however, Calwell, a city near the capital Canberra, was the first project in the province of New South Wales. According to Minister of Sport, Yvette Berry, the new lighting for Calwell is part of a government investment to improve local sports facilities. “This upgrade offers competition lighting in different intensities,” said Berry. “Whether it is on a professional or recreational level, the high-quality lighting will offer both players and fans, who watch from the sidelines, better visibility.

High temperatures during the day make playing golf in the Middle East not a very attractive idea. To enable games in the relatively cool evenings, Emirates Golf Club in Dubai has lit their complete 18 holes golf course and driving range. Recently the many hundreds of conventional luminaires have been replaced with AAA-LUX LED. This has cut their energy consumption to less than half.
The golf course experienced that finding a LED solution that can fit the existing masts and cabling, is not as obvious as it seems. Most LED luminaires that can match the light output of conventional 2kW light fixtures, exceed mast limits in weight and wind surface; they are larger and heavier because of the need for more cooling surface.
Here at this amazingly beautiful golf course, AAA-LUX’ product features made the difference once again. The LED luminaire is the lightest in the market and has the lowest wind resistance using an all-in product including driver, it’s easy and fast to install with minimal additional investment needed. “Also thanks to the wireless controls, things become extremely efficient”, says Raymond Wiggers, Sales Manager at AAA-LUX headquarters in Eindhoven.
In recent years in the Middle East region as well as in Europa, multiple golf projects have been equipped with LED lighting from AAA-LUX. Some even larger than this one in Dubai. “These kinds of beautiful projects are a great addition to the hundreds of projects we carry out each year”, according to Wiggers, adding with a big smile, “and let’s be honest, what a stunning view at Emirates Golf Course in Dubai”.

In recent years AAA-LUX has managed to carve out its reputation of being a specialist in developing LED luminaires that illuminate large areas or areas where high-quality illumination is required. That’s why the Rietlanden Coal Terminal choose for AAA-LUX LED lighting to illuminate their harbour area from 45 meters high masts. This was something never done before with LED technology, yet AAA-LUX mananged to achieve high-quality LED illumination from 45 meters height
After AAA-LUX succesfully installed LED lighting on 45 meters high masts, Rietlanden Coal Terminal assigned AAA-LUX to illuminate the rest of it’s areas as well. This included the washing bay for its vehicles as well as parking areas and service areas at its site in the port of Amsterdam.
Only using AAA-LUX technology allows Rietlanden coal terminal to control and manage the illumination through only one system. AAA-LUX LED technology that is controlled through the AAA-LUX Lighting Control Management System (LCMS) can achieve significant additional energy savings over and above the fact that LED technology itself consumes significantly less energy than conventional luminaires do.
AAA-LUX was the first LED lighting manufacturer to illuminate a complete football field with LED lighting according to the official French regulations in France. This was recognized in 2015 and classified by the Fédération Française de Football. The football field in the French town Gueret is also illuminated with AAA-LUX LED lighting.
Gueret, all reasons to relax
The quiet and peaceful town Gueret, capital of Creuse in the Limousin, is surrounded by beautiful nature. It is a wonderful holiday destination, where relaxation is the keyword. After the purchase of AAA-LUX LED lighting, the local football club is also able to relax a bit more. After the installation of the new LED lighting system, their football field has better and more uniform lighting, the club can determine the light intensity and save immensely on annual electricity costs. All of this with a field that fulfils the quality requirements and standards of the French football association.
France introduced to high quality LED lighting

Striking energy savings thanks to LED lighting
Gueret and France are now experiencing the advantages due to AAA-LUX LED lighting. “Every sports club, where the lights are turned on between 400 and 1000 hours annually, primarily focus on reducing the energy consumption. Replacement of conventional light by LED lighting on a sports ground could already save up to 40%. Furthermore, there is the possibility to dim the lights, to only illuminate part of the field or to decrease light intensity during, for instance, practice. Thanks to this high directional lighting, the football club of Gueret could save 50% to 70% on energy costs,” Denis Beauvois mentions. In addition, projectors of AAA-LUX work without inrush current.
Top quality products
Meanwhile, AAA-LUX has introduced the 6th generation of LED luminaires. Since the first generation, the projectors have evolved to such an extent, thanks to ultra-modern technologies, that they meet the needs of the target group even better. “These new LED luminaires are well built and practically have no loss of power. The current luminaires, weighing only 22 kg, are very light and have a low wind yield. These LED luminaires of 1550 W provide just as much light as a conventional luminaire of 2200 W. AAA-LUX uses wireless technology, making extra wiring unnecessary. Also, the color temperature of 5.200 Kelvin enables a better contrast. Fast balls on the tennis court will be more visible. Moreover, in most cases, the existing infrastructure can be re-used. All of this together is remarkably unique in the field of lighting,“ Beauvois explains.
France is ready for LED lighting
The sports fields in France are eager to improve their lighting solutions against better terms for sports clubs. “Our goal is to acquaint France further to AAA-LUX LED lighting. We focus on sports fields in France, in particular the small and medium-sized sports fields, although we have already installed LED lighting at several professional clubs. For the most effective lighting, we therefore collaborate closely with the French sport associations. France is definitely ready for LED lighting. Soon we will provide the football field of Stade Leo Lagrange with AAA-LUX lighting,” Beauvois says.
Keep developing and innovating
AAA-LUX keeps developing her LED lighting products. The demands and needs of customers and other relevant parties, such as (inter)national sport associations, are therefore closely taken into account. “It is a great challenge to keep improving our products. Staying innovative in technology to create even better lighting that is more savings conscious. This way we introduce France to AAA-LUX and ensure that our LED luminaires become a standard in the field of lighting because of its excellent quality,” Van Dooren from AAA-LUX concludes.
Telescopic masts are used to show the AAA-LUX LED lighting when needed at night, but hide it when it’s not needed at day. This makes a great example of a creative lighting solution, in collaboration with our partner Abacus Lighting Limited.

Hosting over 30 games every year, Astroballe Villeurbanne in Lyon, is one of the largest basketball arenas in France. The professionals of ASVEL basketball team have played in front of thousands in Villeurbanne since 1995. With over 5600 seats in the arena currently stands at sixth place in the national hierarchy. ASVEL Basket, more commonly known as Asvel, is a French professional basketball team located in Villeurbanne, in the suburbs of Lyon.
HD TV recordings
To create suitable lighting for HD cameras, the light required an upgrade that did not only create not only perfect lighting but also allowed the arena to add show elements as well.
AAA-LUX LED luminaires were used in the indoor sports arena. Pitch-perfect lighting was developed for its fans and spectators to watch from any tv screen. HD TV ready, the stadium uses 36 AAA-LUX WS-STAD stadium LED luminaires. Resulting in 2000+ lux vertical lighting with uniformity of over 0.8 from the main camera. The maximum horizonal lighting level is 4000 lux. This means that with this lighting solution, the lighting projected on to the athletes shows up as clear and precise to all the viewers sitting in the arena or even at home. The benefit of this meant that the sports arena could support every possible event within the relevant sports and be HD TV lighting standard certified.
Pharos control system
LED lighting has the benefit over conventional HID luminaires that the lighting intensity can be controlled easily; this is fully adopted and practised in this arena. The levels can be dimmed to save energy during training or provide full brightness during HD recordings. This system is setup for show elements, giving the audience a thrilling game and show experience combined in one system. AAA-LUX chose a Pharos LPC control system for its reliability and to help combine the stadium lighting with show lighting all in one system. The LPC provides an easy platform to program and recall different looks or apply manual overrides when required. With the Pharos control system, Astroballe had an all-in-one control solution for its lighting installation, that can be fully integrated as required. Another benefit of the Pharos system is that it can cope with DALI fixtures, as used at this venue, as well as DMX fixtures, which are available in AAA-LUX’s fixture range as well.
