DXC Arena Shines Bright with New
LED Lighting
The DXC Arena, formerly known as the Marrara Cricket Ground, is the home of NT Cricket and is located in the Marrara sports district in Darwin. Before AAA-LUX installed its state-of-the-art LED sports lighting, the lighting situation at the facility was non-existent. When looking for a new lighting installation, the main objective was to enable local and professional cricket players and teams to play at night. This project was tendered and the requirements were detailed in scope.
AAA-LUX Achieves A1 Dark Compliance
AAA-LUX had to pass a high level of scrutiny to meet the stringent requirements of local environmental authorities, the municipality and neighbours. Achieving A1 Dark – L1 – Non-curfew is one of the lowest lighting levels with a maximum of 2500cd and the GEN7 can achieve these strict parameters, which we are particularly proud of.
MORE THAN JUST LIGHTING : A SPORT FACILITY UPGRADE
The results of the new installation have exceeded all expectations: the effect of the lighting on the pitch is extremely positive. It is now a delight to be able to play outside the heat of Darwin at night. The lighting has provided flexible options for local cricket communities and positioned the pitch as a first-class facility for winter training and a superior playing centre for all professional cricket teams.
