AAA-LUX ensures EC inline-skating shines

AAA-LUX had another first this summer when it illuminated the European Championship inline-skating. The tournament was held  in Heerde, the Netherlands. AAA-LUX partner Van Gelder placed two poles in the infield of the track to ensure the skaters benefited from optimum light while spectators in the stands, and home, were able to see action clearly.
Over 260 participants from 18 countries participated in the championship. Inline-skating is usually for the participants an important way to prepare themselves for the coming ice-skating season, but with a European title at stake it was already clear beforehand that the participants would go to the extreme. The organization, therefore, keen to provide the best facilities possible. AAA-LUX partner Van Gelder had been tasked to ensure that participants were literally put in the spotlight. Van Gelder opted for two poles with each carrying five AAA-LUX LED fixtures. The fixtures combined luminaires from the WS200 and WS250 series. A button box enabled the organization to choose the correct illumination at all times. “As a Dutch company we are proud to have been allowed to illuminate an event like the European Championships inline-skating. The sport is closely related to ice-skating and Dutch ice-skaters have a reputation when it comes to skating, “says Sales and Marketing Manager Rene van der Woerdt. “Because AAA-LUX illuminated the first ever European Championship tournament (the Euro Hockey in 2013) it was important to us to also be the first to illuminate the European Championships inline-skating, especially when the tournament takes place in the Netherlands.”
